AVI 2026 – NL26-8332521, bred by Cees & Richard van Panhuis, combines the documented breeding strength of the Di Caprio family with Henk Simonsz’s Romario-related lines. This pigeon is bred from BIG BOY VINCI × ROMINA, bringing together NPO-level family results, a winning paternal grandmother and a maternal connection to a winner against 4,016 pigeons.
The sire, BIG BOY VINCI, is a direct son of DA VINCI (BE09-6349682), the grandson of Heremans-Ceusters’ DI CAPRIO. DA VINCI’s breeding record provides a central attraction:
- Father of a 5th NPO Nijvel prizewinner and a 1st Natour Ace Pigeon.
- Grandfather of a 3rd National Morlincourt prizewinner.
- Great-grandfather of a 1st NPO Morlincourt winner.
BIG BOY VINCI’s dam, BLUE PORSCHE 1 x 1. (NL21-1088451), adds direct racing performance: 1st Duffel against 168 pigeons as a young bird in 2021. She is bred from Dirk van Dyck’s BLUE DIRK and PORSCHE 913. BLUE DIRK traces to the same SON DI CAPRIO, BE08-6388584, that sired DA VINCI, reinforcing this documented paternal connection. PORSCHE 913 also bred a 1st Tilburg winner against 939 pigeons.
The dam, ROMINA, is bred from ROMULUS 729 × ALGARVE * ROMARIO. Her sire was bred by Henk Simonsz from PHANTOM 22 and ROMY 925, the latter explicitly recorded as inbred to ROMARIO and bred from Jorg Hallmann’s ROMY 77 × ROMY 16. ROMINA’s dam, ALGARVE * ROMARIO, is a half-sister to the winner of 1st Beek en Donk against 4,016 pigeons. She combines BR. ALGARVE WINNER, bred from ALGARVE KING × ALGARVE QUEEN, with ROMY 678, another ancestor recorded as inbred to ROMARIO.
A pedigree-led offering with clear family credentials: repeated Di Caprio ancestry, established NPO and national breeding results, and Romario-related maternal blood backed by a substantial-field winning connection.
