Vega – ES-2026-49089, a blue white-flight hen bred by Pedro Mompean, combines concentrated Tom Van Gaver FINN blood with the family of National Souillac winner MAURICE. She is a daughter of Justify Spikkel × Berlina, both bred by V. Gaver & A. Abajo. Her pedigree lists her for Team Pedro Mompean at Avirings OLR 2026, an event with 3,214 starters and an eight-race programme featuring three 500 km finals over 21 days.
Her sire, Justify Spikkel, is a half-brother to FRANKEL, whose record includes 2nd National Champion, Sport Nat category G, 2024, and 1st Regional against 2,677 pigeons over 642 km. Justify Spikkel is bred from two direct children of FINN: Justify Finn, BE-2019-4233370, and Sister Spikkel Finn, BE-2022-4198338. Vega is therefore a great-granddaughter of FINN through both paternal grandparents. FINN, BE-2015-4211540, is recorded as Tom Van Gaver’s number-one foundation pigeon and a 1st Provincial winner against 1,591 pigeons. Sister Spikkel Finn also bred a pigeon placed 66th National Argenton against 15,769 pigeons in 2026.
Her dam, Berlina, brings further close-family performance. She is a half-sister to pigeons credited with 2nd National WBP YL FCI 2025, 1st Overall Ace YL across 17 consecutive races, and 2nd Regional against 4,436 pigeons over 354 km. Berlina’s sire, Bentley, was bred by Pipa Elite Center from MAURICE × Sister Remco 385. This makes Vega a great-granddaughter of MAURICE, BE-2019-4184131, winner of 1st National Souillac against 7,514 pigeons in 2021.
The maternal side also returns to the FINN foundation pair through Black FINN, a full brother to FINN and the sire of Vega’s maternal grandmother, Sister O. Charlotte. Vega offers a clearly documented combination of repeated FINN ancestry, a direct National-winning ancestor and strong national-ranking performances among her parents’ half-siblings—an appealing pedigree for breeders seeking both family concentration and demonstrated competitive quality.
