Marco Gratzer
AUT-2026-609-41 (AUT-2026-F048-16)
A609-26-41 — a full sibling to 6th in the 520 km AviRings Derby final. Bred by Gratzer - Racing Pigeons, this pigeon combines close-family one-loft results with the Pokerface, Kircher × van der Merwe and documented Arden long-distance lines.
The headline attraction is full sibling A609-23-2: 6th in the 520 km AviRings Derby final in 2023, plus 7th in Hot Spot 3 over 239 km. Both parents are explicitly recorded as the parents of this performer, providing direct evidence of the pairing’s breeding quality.
The mother, A609-21-46, is a performer in her own right, taking 14th in the 600 km Derby Zagreb Super Final in 2021. The father, DV03900-19-1441, bred by Rudi & Marco Mattis, also sired A609-21-378, which recorded five prizes from five races in the 2021 young bird championship and ranked 4th Ace Pigeon, RV Österreich Süd.
The paternal pedigree brings together performance and breeding depth. Grandmother “Elaine,” DV06195-11-1482, of Kircher × van der Merwe breeding, won 13 prizes from 13 races and ranked 82nd Ace Hen in Germany in 2012. She is bred from Ludwig Kircher’s “Spencer,” a son of foundation cock 116, and a Peter van der Merwe hen. Paternal grandfather “Sohn Pokerface,” DV02910-16-555, is a son of “Pokerface” and an explicitly recorded half-brother to “Black Champ,” 9th SAMDPR 2015.
The maternal family adds further distance credentials. Grandfather DV065-13-240, bred by Wolfgang Krönert, is described as a grandson of “Kondor” from the Arden long-distance line, with Brockamp × Overwater also documented behind him. Together with maternal grandmother A609-16-185, he produced offspring credited with 12th in the 520 km Tatry Derby Krajkova final in 2017. This branch also contains great-grandparents “Trix Champ,” 1st Trix Derby over 500 km, and A609-15-275, 4th Ace Pigeon at the 2015 Talent Quatro Derby.
A pedigree whose appeal rests on a high-placed full sibling, a successful 600 km mother and multiple generations of documented racing and breeding results.
