“Matilde” — ES-2026-49013, blue hen. Half-sister to Olympic Candela and great-granddaughter of the National Souillac winner “Maurice”. A pedigree combining close Olympic family connections, documented breeding success and the Leo Heremans, Dirk van den Bulck, Olymp Rosita and Van Loon–Engels lines.
Her outstanding selling point is her paternal half-sister Olympic Candela, whose record includes:
- Bronze Olympic medal, yearlings, Maastricht 2024.
- 2nd International World Best Pigeon, yearlings, FCI 2023.
- 1st Regional against 5,963 pigeons over 417 km.
- 1st Regional against 1,997 pigeons over 643 km.
Matilde’s sire, “F. Olympic Candela” ES-2020-55249, is the documented father of this exceptional hen. The connection is reinforced on Matilde’s maternal side: her dam, “Olympic’s sister” BE-2023-4073580, is herself a half-sister to Olympic Candela through their mother, the Van Loon–Engels hen PT-2019-9204298. Matilde’s dam has also bred winners of 1st Regional against 1,520 pigeons over 362 km and 1st Regional against 967 pigeons over 522 km.
National-winning quality adds further depth. Through her maternal grandsire “Bentley” BE-2022-4151849, Matilde is a great-granddaughter of “Maurice” BE-2019-4184131, 1st National Souillac against 7,514 pigeons in 2021. Bentley also has a documented offspring ranking of 2nd National World Best Pigeon, yearlings, FCI 2025, supporting the breeding strength of this branch.
On the paternal side, grandsire “Special One” carries the recorded Leo Heremans connection, while granddam “Always Rosita” is described as inbred to Olymp Rosita. Several great-grandparents are explicitly recorded as Kittel grandchildren. Together with the Van Loon–Engels maternal foundation, these branches give Matilde an appealing combination of established bloodlines and close-family performance.
